Algebra II

Algebra II is a required class for most sophomores.  It is an EOI class, which means at the end of the school year we will have an End Of Intruction test that is state mandated.  If the student does not pass on the first attempt, it is possible the student will be asked to attend summer school for remmediation, and will retake the EOI at the end of summer school.

The following are the 3 main standards that are state required.

Standard 1:  Number Systems and Algebraic Operations

Includes simplifying radicals, simplifying rational expressions, dividing polynomials, complex fractions, and complex or imaginary numbers.

Standard 2:  Relations and Functions

Includes identifying parent graphs of polynomial, exponential, radical, quadratic, and logarithmic functions, transformations on these functions, graphing using a graphing caclulator, simplifying functions with function notation, domain and range of these functions, inverse of a function.

Standard 3:  Data Analysis, and Statistics

Includes translating data to tables, graphs, or symbols, making valid inferences based on data, scatter plots of data, choosing the curve of best fit (could be linear, quadratic, exponential, etc.), arithmetic and geometric sequences and series.
